“…out of (Rennell Island?)”

<INTERFACE 2037 READY FOR INQUIRY>

I have done some preliminary work on my ideas about the commercial space port in the Solomons Island, depicting the landing areas for the massive towing vehicles.

To set the mood:

This is commercial towing vehicle Nostromo out of the Solomons, registration number 1-8-oh-niner-2-4-6-0-niner. Calling Antarctica traffic control. Do you read me …

With regards to the Nostromo’s home port, we don’t get anything more specific than that. So there is plenty of room to play around in.

Considering the size of these vessels, and the hurricane-force of their take-offs and landings, it seems prudent to isolate the landing areas. I chose the mid-section of Rennell Island, in the Solomons.

Continued research into the population densities and topography of the Solomon Islands might result in changes.

A little lagniappe:

I discovered that this is a denizen of Rennell Island: the coconut crab (Birgus latro)!
