One man’s Ripley.

Ripley’s effect on this Alien fan are traced back to quite a young age at the drive-in theater. The closest drive-in to me, back in 1979, was 20 miles away, so I did not get there much.

A lot has been written about the impact this Final Girl had on the pre-conceptions and expectations of late-Seventies film-goers, but the honesty of the personal memory gives it a credibility missing from many academic analyses.

Can’t imagine what it must have been like to see the film in that kind of venue!
