Project Narcissus, by Lee Stringer.

Lee Stringer is a visual effects artist whose work has received Emmy nominations (Battlestar Galactica, 2004-2009) and the Emmy Award itself  (Firefly, 2002).

Lee has also been involved with the fantastic Star Trek: Ships of the Line calendars, and worked with LucasFilm as a CGI supervisor on Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2009). You can read more about him at his website.

Considering these accomplishments, it is no surprise that his attempt at recreating the Narcissus shuttle from Alien (1979) was a complete success.

He documented the entire process in the Project Narcissus gallery on his Flickr account.
